In Family Guy, what was the second episode where Stewie mispronounces words that irritates Brian?

I know the episode where the emphasize the h in what, why, and whip. Just recently, though, I saw a newer family guy clip where Stewie mispronounces another word. I remember Brian saying something like, “I’m not doing this again.” I was wondering if you guys knew the episode it was on?

Stewie was mispronouncing the word Ruin and it was in the episode Love Blactually Season 7 Ep 1. Hope this helps :)

How Natural Highs are better than artificial ones?

Natural highs have no side effects. Natural highs are similar high as the one acquired by artificial stimulus, but it is harmless. It lasts longer and is far more gratifying than fake highs, and these authentic highs can be constantly reproduced. Natural highs engross the discharge of physical and emotional anxiety whilst still being fully aware of the mind and body: The feeling of letting go with no guilt or reservation. This procedure of producing your own ecstasy is a sentiment, that once achieved will never be elapsed.
Chemically produced and offered artificial highs have short term effects which will even become severe after completion of dose.  This causes folks to have to become drug addicts, or alcoholics to continue the practice. This lasting habit to the artificial stimulus to experience a high is disparaging. The chemicals cause a patient to drop functions of the body and brain. A real lose of not just body manage but mental control as well. The compounds have some negative effects many health related problems. Natural highs offer surprising outcomes but it is little bit hard to follow the preventions and diet controls. Natural highs take place when trios of sentiments come mutually bliss, well-being, and delight. You perhaps have reminiscence or two of natural highs. If you scrutinize them you will find out that these natural highs happen when you were experiencing freedom.
A natural high is according to me is a self induced feeling. You must simply know when you are as well a where you are. Then add in happiness, some well-being, and some happiness; then let go, and you will feel a real high. The remarkable part of all this is; natural highs come from inside. You are the originator of your personal exhilaration, you are the sole one who can experience this high, and also can generate it. Realize this; you are the only personality living in your crust. To encompass a natural high you must be free. Consequently it is simply you who can experience what you feel, you are the one who can pick what you feel and when.

Watches Charming in Wrist of Hollywood Stars

Watches are to men what high-heeled shoes are to women. They are a symbol of their taste and status, expressing men’s unique masculinity. Looking at these Hollywood male stars in forefront of fashion, their obsession on watches is beyond our imagination. These actors naturally become ambassadors of brand watches. Here let’s look at these stars’ favorite watches.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak series original edition watch. This watch is equipped with new automatic movement Cal.3120 which received critical acclaim recent years. However, the appearance is completely followed the 1972 “Royal Oak” series watch. Even if this watch should be classified in sports watch, but the exquisite polished appearance and ’70s-style design make this watch be competent to the most formal occasions.

Although Pitt usually wears TAG Heuer circular Carrera series watch when he is present at Heuer’s endorsement activity. But I believe that if wearing the quadrate TAG Heuer Monaco chronograph, he will be cuter. Folding clasp, saddle-style sewn alligator leather strap and the eye-catching red characters on the dial. Who can resist its lure?

I am sure this Patek Philippe Ref.5959P single crown platinum chronograph will become your favorite. In my memory, this kind of watch has a huge volume. But this delicate 5959P watch is really rare. It’s hard to believe that its complex function at the first sight. To wear this watch you need more confidence, because it is only suitable for the real refined man.

Bell & Ross’ HydroMax is the best water-resistant watch in the world. No matter how deep it is, the watch will not be damaged. Of course, there is no place which is deeper than the Marjana trench. If the day, Matthew Fox wants to adventure in Marjana trench adventure, maybe he can hang a Bell & Ross’ HydroMax outside the submarine.

Help Myself Hypnosis for Horse and Pony Riders: Manage your Competition Stress

Its that time of year again (in the UK at least!) and I thought you might be interested in a few pointers to help with the competition season.  These techniques work well in a variety of situations though so even if your goals are not competition orientated, I think you’ll find them helpful.  I hope so anyway!

If you’re stressed out taking your horse to competitions, you’re not alone.   Confidence isn’t a stable commodity (arrgh!) and even the most experienced of riders suffer competition nerves.  These can vary in severity from the odd butterfly suddenly deciding to strut its stuff in your stomach to absolute, downright debilitating fear.

Here’s what happens when you get nervous -

Your reaction to stress is largely generated by the so-called ‘Fight, Flight or Freeze’ response.  This is part of our primitive emergency survival mechanism and many horse riders are astounded to discover that they are inadvertently adopting stone-age survival strategies that are often counter-productive in this space-age world.

What you/your body does

  • Quick intake of breath
  • Tense muscles.

Fuel reserves are mobilised and sent to the brain and muscles. Extra oxygen is taken in to burn the fuel.

  • Heart pounds
  • Headaches

Blood pressure and breathing rate increases making the heart beat faster.

  • Sweaty palms and feet

Palms and feet get sweaty to give better grip (i.e. on spear or for climbing trees etc.).

  • Cold feet (can still be sweaty!)

Blood is shunted away from the extremities, where it is not needed – also reduces blood loss in event of injury.

  • ‘Butterflies’ in stomach.
  • Loss of appetite.
  • Dry mouth.

Energy consuming digestive processes are closed down, including the production of saliva.

  • Loss of peripheral vision – becoming excessively focussed on object of ‘fear’.

Concentration improves. The pupils dilate to let in more light.

  • Feel sick
  • Urgent need to go to the toilet.

If the situation becomes really life threatening, we may even vomit or defecate to make the body lighter and less appetising.

  • Get ‘goose’ pimples and/or hair ‘prickles’ on back of neck.

Muscles under the skin partially contract so that hair stands on end to make us look larger and more threatening to potential predators.

These physical and mental adaptations are brought about by chemical changes in the body.  It is our perception of the challenge or threat that determines the cocktail of chemicals released and these in turn determine our emotional response.  Contrary to popular belief, it is noradrenaline (not adrenaline) that gives rise to those lovely feelings of excitement and drive as well as physical strength.  For this reason noradrenaline has been named the ‘kick’ or high performance hormone which in large amounts stimulates special areas in the brain that produce a feeling of pleasure.  In contrast, the feelings and sensations associated with high levels of adrenaline are not pleasant – these are the ones generating the need to flee, leaving us overwhelmed, inadequate and afraid.

Here’s how you can help yourself -

Future Pacing

I think it was Linford Christie who described ‘future pacing’ when he said that he never ran a race he had not run many times before. He meant of course that he ran it through in his mind in the way in which he hoped to run it when he competed.  If you want to use this technique to help you create those all-important positive perceptions of the competition environment, simply set yourself realistic goals and imagine yourself achieving them. Do this several times a day in the run-up to the competition, paying particular attention to the detail of what you will see, hear and feel when you get where you want to be.

Work out where your personal challenge lies

The perception of threat or challenge is an entirely individual thing.  What stresses you may not stress someone else so working out exactly where your personal challenge lies can be helpful.

It might sound obvious but it’s surprising how many riders fail miserably on this score.  So for example

  • If you are the sort of person who performs best in an ordered environment (plenty of time to warm up etc.), it’s easy to predict that insufficient planning or lack of time will stress you out.  The best thing you can do to improve your performance is to improve your organisation.  Use your determination and your logical, rational abilities to help you manage your competition stress.
  • If some of your competition stress comes from worrying about what other people might be thinking and whether you are going to let others/your horse down, you can help yourself by avoiding those ‘what if’ projections (such as ‘What if he runs out/spooks’’, ‘What if I forget the course’ etc.) and keeping a tight rein on your imagination.
  • If you are the sort of rider who actually loves being the in the limelight, the main threat inherent in a competition situation for you might be the potential for loss of face.  However, you can use this to your advantage by acting the part – just behave ‘as if’ you can do it or pretend that you are William Fox Pitt or Mary King.  It will also help if you can guard against your inclination to become rather frenetic when stressed. More likely than not, this will simply result in you upsetting your horse and making ever escalating mistakes!

Control your breathing; Control your Stress

Breathing is one of the few subconscious responses to challenge that is within our conscious control.   Its much easier to control your breathing than it is to control those butterflies in your stomach for example.  Deep, slow breathing aids relaxation, reduces tension and gives a much greater sense of control over yourself as well as increased feelings of physical and mental well-being.  When competing, make sure you take a few deep breaths before you go into the collecting ring and remember to keep on breathing!  You could also say something like ‘calm’ or ‘confident’ to yourself at the same time.  Smiling relaxes those jaw muscles and is generally great too :) )

Give yourself permission to be confident

This may seem simple but can actually be quite challenging.  Many of us sabotage our own confidence by telling ourselves that we are ‘no good at competitions’, ‘hopeless’, ‘too nervous’ etc.  Pippa Funnel is a superb example of why it’s worth working on transforming those negative statements into positive ones.  She attributes some of her success to sports psychologist Nicky Heath and has been quoted as saying

“There were a lot of low points during the years when I never achieved at the top and Nikki got me believing in myself”

Affirmations are simple positive statements that you say to yourself over and over again.  If you tell yourself something often enough, you will begin to believe it.  That belief will then become a self-fulfilling prophecy -

A positive belief will build a more positive attitude that in turn leads to more positive expectations. This expectation means that you will start noticing when you behave differently and more positively and so you start to notice the small improvements. The positive cycle continues because as you notice these improvements, so more positive beliefs will grow.

Stretch yourself

Very simply there are three areas in which we can operate.   They are the comfort zone, the stretch zone and the over-stretch zone. The basic principle is that we need to work mostly in the comfort zone, occasionally in the stretch zone and never in the over-stretch zone. (The same applies to your horse). To improve your confidence, experiment with expanding your comfort zone by working in the stretch zone – without over-stretching yourself!

Think about a time when you felt really confident

Remember where you were, what you were doing, what you could see and hear around you and what you could feel.  Really allow yourself to enjoy re-living that experience as fully as possible.

Imagine putting all (seeing, hearing and feeling) of that memory in something like a brown paper bag so that it is easy to carry around with you.  Keep dipping into the bag (as you might with some favourite sweets perhaps!) and    enjoy savouring those confident moments as often as possible.  This technique is called ‘Resource Anchoring’ and is a great trick to use just before you go into the ring or start the cross-country course for example…

Use Self-Hypnosis

Self-hypnosis is the ultimate self-help tool.  It’s versatile, safe, fast, simple, pleasant, effective, non-invasive and non-addictive.  No wonder then that numerous well-known sportspeople have used it to enhance their performance, including boxers Frank Bruno, Steve Collins and Nigel Benn, former England cricket captain Mike Brearley, athlete Iwan Thomas and golfers Tiger Woods and Ian Woosnam.  Olympic cyclist Levi Leipheimer credits a self-hypnosis audio CD as contributing to his success in winning the USA’s biggest race twice, achieving a third place in the Tour de France and a Bronze Medal at the Beijing Olympics.

I wrote my self-hypnosis audio CD, Hypnosis for Horseriders to help you manage your horse riding experiences positively by better managing yourself and your emotions.  It’s suitable for riders of all standards and disciplines; whether you need some help to get back in the saddle, be a ‘happy hacker’ or to find that competitive edge.   The CD/MP3 download uses hypnosis to enhance and expand the techniques described above by helping you to

  1. access your creative ability to find solution to problems so that ideas, insights and constructive information become more readily available and
  2. create an environment where you are able to accept positive and helpful suggestions without the restrictions ordinarily imposed by your conscious abilities and responses (as in “yeah but – it won’t work for me, I don’t think I’m ever going to be able to …….” for example!).

Also available in the Help Myself Hypnosis series (via www.helpmyselfhypnosis.com ) are Help Myself Hypnosis (which teaches self-hypnosis), Help Myself Sleep, Help Myself Lose Weight and Help Myself Stop Smoking.  More titles are planned, so watch this space!

English Bulldogs — Choosing the Breed of Dog That’s Right for You

When choosing a dog, it’s important to choose the breed that’s right for you. In order to do that, you need to know the characteristics and temperament of the breed you’re thinking about adopting or purchasing before you do so. The English Bulldog is just one breed among many from which to choose.

History/Background: The English Bulldog descended from the ancient Asiatic mastiff and was brought to Europe by nomads. It was bred for bull baiting in the early 13th century. The name “bulldog” (medieval in origin) refers to the robust look of a little bull and also the power with which this dog attacked bulls in arena combat before that practice was outlawed in the 19th century. The last of the working bulldogs in England were crossed with Pug dogs to create the English Bulldog. This breed was first registered by the American Kennel Club in 1935.

Physical Characteristics: The English Bulldog has a short but wide, compact and muscular body with stocky legs and a short tail. The head is broad, with dense skin folds on the skull and forehead, and the cheeks extend to the sides of the eyes. The muzzle is short and sometimes dark, with a broad black nose and large nostrils. The upper lip is pendant and the lower jaw undershot. The eyes are very round, far apart and dark. The small, thin ears are folded back in the form of a rose. The coat is short and smooth, and the color can be red, fawn, brindle, pale yellow, washed-out red, white or any combination of these colors. The English Bulldog’s height is about 12 to 16 inches, and weight is 49 to 55 pounds.

Personality/Temperament: The English Bulldog, in contrast to its aggressive and fighting ancestors, is gentle and very affectionate. It typically does not beg for attention but seeks for it, and lots of human attention is required for its happiness. It is content to lie peacefully at its owner’s feet or just to be in the same room with its owner. It is sensitive to its owner’s moods. This breed makes a good companion and is good with children and the elderly and also with family pets.

Although known for its courage and excellent guarding abilities, an English Bulldog does not necessarily make a good watch dog. It usually only barks when there is really a reason or sometimes if furniture has been moved or there is something new in the house. This breed of dog can be bullheaded and determined and does not give up easily. It can be dominating and needs an owner who displays strong leadership.

A young English Bulldog will be full of energy but will slow down as it gets older. Although it appears lazy, this is not really the case. It doesn’t jump at every command but evaluates the command against its own priority setting to decide whether to obey the command and with what urgency. This breed snores very loudly and tends to slobber and drool. It rarely whines or complains.

Possible Health Conditions: Some of the health conditions that plague this breed of dog include breathing problems, poor eyesight, susceptibility to heat stroke in warm weather or hot rooms or cars, sensitivity to cold, skin infections and hip and knee problems. This breed also has an active digestive system. Puppies are often delivered by cesarean section because of the broad head. The life expectancy for this breed averages 8 years.

Exercise/Grooming: English Bulldogs need daily short walks but are not tolerant of excessive exercise. Some adult bulldogs would rather not exercise while others are full of energy. Grooming is fairly easy and consists of combing or brushing with a firm bristle brush and bathing only when necessary. The face should be wiped with a damp cloth every day to clean inside the wrinkles. This breed is an average shedder.

Living Conditions: This breed of dog is good for apartment life, is inactive indoors and does okay without a yard. It chills easily in cold weather and has trouble cooling off in very hot weather. It should be kept indoors.

Summary: The English Bulldog needs lots of human attention and strong human leadership, is very good with children and the elderly, makes a good companion and is relatively easy to groom but doesn’t typically have a lot of energy and has a shorter life expectancy than most breeds. If you are looking for these characteristics and traits in a dog and are able to fulfill its needs, then perhaps an English Bulldog is the right breed for you.

The Age of Horse Culture: American Indian Horsemanship

Before I begin, I would like to thank Donovin Sprague Hump, Black Hills State University Instructor, author and historian. Descendent of Chief Hump and the Crazy Horse Family. Also, Dave Reynolds for helping me to research this area and also contributing some of the historical literature used for this research.

The Conquistadors passed an ordinance, soon after they arrived in the Americas, prohibiting any Indian from riding a horse. They encouraged the Indians to believe that the horses devoured human flesh. In 1582 Antonio Espejo was still telling the Indians “The horses were ferocious…”.  However, it did not take the Indians long to realize that being men, like the Spaniards, they could also ride.

As the ranches grew, the need for vaqueros, cow-workers, was filled by mounting the Indian serfs. Sante Fe became the most prominent place for distribution of the Spanish Mustang into the North American landscape and to the Native Tribes. In the beginning the Indians attained horses through raids on Spanish settlements in Sante Fe, El Paso and on the Rio Grande. They were also looting far in Chihuahua and Sonora in Northern Mexico. Although many tribes acquired horses, it was the tribes of the Plains that soon became the superb horseman and horse warriors that we hear so much about in history. The horse made them masters of the herds of buffalo that gave them food, shelter, bedding, tools, saddles, lariats and the core of their religion.

The beginning of the 17th century brought a new era for both the Native American and the white men, for this date marked the introduction of the horse into Indian culture. Within a hundred years the horse population had grown into the tens of thousands among the nations of the Comanche, Crow, Cheyenne, Sioux, Arapaho, Kiowa, Nez Perces, Pawnee and Blackfoot. It had become a measure of wealth, trade and class, the main means to hunt buffalo and a tactical instrument of war.

Riding at a full gallop with nothing more than a pelt cinched to the horses back they put to shame the generations of European horseman to follow in the West. The Indian and his Spanish Mustang were inseparable companions, sharing a deep sense of friendship and understanding that has not been equaled since.

Blackfoot warfare was not aimed at the acquisition of territory or other tribes extermination but the capturing of horses from enemy tribes. Many of the the Blackfoot raids were carried out by poor families who were trying to better their lot. These raiding parties offered the training ground for the young warrior. They would go without receiving any horses but being repaid by learning the art of horse stealing. The horse raiding parties were lead by experienced men who had lead men into enemy camps and captured goodly amounts of horses; returning home with few casualties.
Among the Comanche the horse added a new source of economic and political power, by controlling the access to the horse, a horse owner could control access to the buffalo hunt. The communal hunt of the pre-horse Comanche cultural gave way to the individual horse-mounted buffalo hunter. American observers among the Comanche, in the early 19th century, reported concentrations of horses numbering from 3,000 to 5,000, most with Spanish Brands. Successful warriors had from 50 to 200 horses each. In 1867 Labadi, an Indian agent reported 15,000 horses in Comanche camps on the Texas plains.

Among the Sioux the horse was more than a mere animal it was viewed as “medicine” with supernatural potency. Owning a horse gave a man personal medicine, in hunting and in war.  Over time the horse became their symbol of wealth and a medium of exchange. The man with the fastest horse could kill more buffalo and so assumed a position different from the less fortunate. The horse became the path to economic stability and social position. Large herds of horses were not easily acquired. Horses were not successfully bred, though attempts were made among the Sioux. The chief method by which stock was replenished was capturing wild horses or stealing them from other tribes.

The Crows raised horses, roped mustangs, rode magnificently and owned more horses than any other tribe on the Missouri. The Crow and the Blackfoot were constantly raiding each others horses.

The Nez Perces became known for their outstanding strain of Spanish Horses known as Appaloosas; the name coming from the Palouse River of western Idaho and eastern Washington. Lewis and Clark wrote “ they are pied with large spots of white irregularly scattered and intermixed with black, brown, bey or other dark color, but much the larger portion are of uniform color with stars, strips and white feet…”.  It is thought the Nez Perces were practicing selective breeding. Splotched horses occurred wherever Spanish Horses ran. Whether the Nex Perces began  raising them from a considerable collection of individuals or from only a pair or two is not known. Most of these horses were noted by Lewis and Clark to have Spanish brands. The Nez Perces were protected from raids by the mountains and this is what enabled them to do such breeding.

In John C. Cremony’s book “Life Among the Apaches”, written in 1868, he writes “…after a successful raid, in which they have captured many animals, and having selected the best for riding, retire to some remote fastness to feed upon the remainder so long as they last…”. This points up an important fact. That is, by this method they were doing selective breeding. Only keeping the horses that best suited their purposes and using the rest for survival. Since the Apaches were most likely the first Natives of North America, to obtain the horse, they used this process of selective breeding to foster the Spanish Mustangs qualities for endurance, speed, agility, and hardiness, the traits that their survival depended on. Although it may not have been a conscious decision its results obtained the same goals.

Good horses were more plentiful among the northern tribes, this was because the northern ranges are more conducive to growth in livestock. It was the reason, later, the Texas cattlemen moved their Longhorns to Wyoming and Montana to fill them out and add weight.

With the Acquisition of The Northwest Territory, the Northern Europeans of Eastern America began to move west and came in contact with the Plains Indians and their herds of Spanish Mustangs. As the 19th century closed, the horses of the plains Indians ceased to be straight out Spanish Blood as did many bands of wild horses. Taking horses where they could find them, the Indians of the Eastern Plains interbreed their stock with horses from the English-speaking Americans. J.Frank Dobie said “These horses were patriotically called “American”. They were not a breed, they were no more fixed in type than American dogs; they were bigger than the Spanish-Indian-Western Horse. To the majority of American patriots, bigness had become a synonym for superiority.”

The Age of Horse Culture lasted from the 17th century to the end of the 1800s. The Spanish Mustang reshaped the lives and culture of the Native Americans of the plains and they infused the history of the West with some of the most daring and courageous horsemanship ever known. Sadly, there is not enough recorded information of this period. Many of the Artist of the period were not very good at anatomy and did not depict the Indian horse accurately. The Native American had an oral history and when the wonder of photography came to the Plains the photographers seemed to disregard the horse as part of the Indian culture and society and instead concentrated on portraits of Indians in their regalia. We rely mostly on European accounts of what was seen or told to them by different tribes they encountered. The Native American and the Spanish Mustang were made for each other, they both had extreme desires for independence and survival and a love of the vast country that nurtured them.

I live on a twenty acre ranch in the Black Hills of South Dakota. I have two Spanish Mustang horses and a cat. I put work as a photographer and illustrator up at stock photo sites and manage SpanishMustangworld.com and a radio show at www.talkshoe.com/tc/28533 about Spanish Mustang Horses. I also help at healthyandliving.org to write articles about natural grass fed beef and community supported ranching.

Three Tips for Choosing Mens Suede Saddle Shoes

If you are looking for a stylish shoe that can be worn to work or a special event, men’s suede saddle shoes are likely to be at the top of your list. That said, if you want to find the best pair of shoes, you will be well served by keeping a few simple things in mind.  In many cases, if you pay attention to certain details, you will not need to buy new shoes every few months in order to be fashionable.

Choose a Shoe With a Sensible Height

As with many other aspects of fashion, you will find that men’s suede shoes also undergo characteristic changes.  Among other things, you may find that the height of the back part of the shoe may vary from boot sized to low rider.  If you are looking for a happy medium, it may be best to choose a pair of shoes that just reach your ankles.  On the other hand, you can always buy shoes with different heights at the end of the fashion season, and then save them for when the pattern re-occurs.

Color Choice and Toe Styles

Chances are you will never find a season where green shoes are considered fashionable for men.  On the other hand, you may find that there is some variance between the fashionably of brown, tan, and black.  As a general rule of thumb, if you choose these colors over grey or white, you will have a much better chance of being fashionable without having to buy new shoes.  Even though you may be tempted to buy square-toed shoes, or ones that have unusual shapes, it is best to stay with rounded designs.  Typically, you will find that the next season will result in a return to a more normal looking shoe.

Personal Comfort and Sizing

There is absolutely no reason why you should wind up with bunions, sore heels, and foot infections because your shoes are too narrow or too small.  Therefore, even though certain men’s suede saddle shoes may be fashionable, you may want to look for ones that match the size and shape of your feet.

In many cases, you will be surprised to find that your comfort will far outstrip any satisfaction you will derive from having a shoe that is “fashionable”.  At the very least, you won’t have to worry about looking like you went to a fire sale when you choose shoes for the sake of comfort.

When you are looking for men’s suede saddle shoes to fit a wide range of purposes, you should look for a fine balance between common designs and ones that represent unusual fashion season’s sensations.  As with shirts, pants, and ties, when you adhere to a few basic designs and colors, you will find that your wardrobe budget will cover a larger number of items.  In addition, when you consider personal comfort, you will always be able to get more use out of each time that you purchase.
