What Documentation Do I Need?
Hi chaps, I’m currently thinking of booking a 4 night stay in New York as a last minute ditch attempt to enjoy my youth before settling down into a job. I’m a UK resident since birth and 19 years old, what forms of documentation will I need to take with me? So far I’ve got passport.. (did you tell I’m slightly new to this?)
I dont have a full UK driving licence just a provisional, is that OK?
All you’ll need is your passport. You’ll be traveling under the Visa Waiver Program provided you qualify, which you will unless you have been arrested. Check here for details about the VWP: http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/niv/vwp.html
Without a full license you won’t be able to rent a car. Since you plan on going to NY(C?) you won’t need one.
Before you book the flight, check into age limits for hotels. Make certain you won’t have a problem checking in where you plan on staying. Some hotels are a little funny about renting rooms to people under 21. Speaking of 21, that is the legal drinking age in the US unlike 18 in the UK.
